Bill Sanderson, Business Coach
Bill is an enthusiastic and experienced Business Coach with an impressive 15 year track record of success. He has a pragmatic and common sense approach to business and believes, absolutely, that the potential for growth and development is within everyone for as long as they choose to pursue it.
He started his career with the Police Force then moved to management in a Utilities company before privatisation. From there Bill joined the Regional Press, eventually becoming Sales and Marketing Director within a major UK Group.
Understanding people is one of Bill’s strengths and this is complemented by a thorough knowledge of business and management and what it takes to succeed in today’s market. These ideals, combined with his passion for training and developing people, led to his decision to focus on coaching and training full time over twenty years ago.
Since then, Bill has established himself both as a top business coach and a premier designer and deliverer of personal and management development programmes. Always ready to engage with the people responsible for making the business work at a personal, management and leadership level, he has developed an holistic coaching approach. This coaching style reflects his positive approach and helps to manage change successfully.
Bill has a wealth of experience coaching clients from the UK and Europe and regularly travels around Europe and further afield to meet his clients. He has worked with Business Owners and Senior Executives from the public and private sectors, leaders from industry, construction, commerce, leisure and the professions. He is also a regular international conference speaker.
Bill Sanderson is highly experienced in helping people to develop their personal and management skills through specialist coaching and via seminar programmes. Bill uses this method when working with MDs looking to grow their business within the SME sector. Within industry, and the construction industry in particular, he has combined the role of coach and mentor to MDs as companies faced step changes and needed to prepare the management team for major strategic moves.
Bill is a specialist in delivering and running senior management development programmes to major corporates (ranging from £100m to £1bn+ turnovers). He uses his practical experience of the demands of senior management to help his clients focus on and achieve ever higher levels of performance.
The sought-after combination of trainer and coach was utilised by public sector employers, including the Department of Employment (now the DWP), in the development and delivery of training for their staff. Bill also developed a training and coaching programme for Department of Employment clients supporting them to gain employment, change career path or embark on self employment through government led financial incentives. He has also worked with senior manager within Birmingham City Council, Utilities Industry to Academia, Commerce and Industry and Not for Profit organisations.
He has hands on experience and proven delivery skills as a coach to all levels of management from Business Owners and their senior management to front line supervisors and team leaders.
Also a regular lecturer at Manchester Business School for over twelve years where he delivered their MBA programme and spearheaded a brand new venture to mentor businesses evolving out of the University.
In his free time, Bill is a jazz enthusiast, with a visit to New Orleans a highlight in recent travels. He loves sport and is a life time Manchester United supporter.
