Peter Bernard, Business Coach
Peter is a specialist Business Coach and career development expert with over 20 years business experience. Peter’s business background, prior to coaching, is in marketing and sales management within the technology sector. Peter also worked for several years in the professional services sector, running a major head-hunter’s European telecommunications business and leading a team of business psychologists offering consultancy and design/delivery of assessment and development solutions.
Peter has a deep understanding of the skills required for entrepreneurs to start, run and grow businesses successfully and is an expert in combining the science of business management with the art of business growth. His skills allow him to understand the business environment within which his clients work and to offer advice and guidance for growth as well as providing expert coaching support. He especially enjoys working with start-ups and fast growth companies; as well as being experienced working in multicultural environments, having recently worked with a large number of Asian Business Entrepreneurs on business growth. He has a direct approach and stays focused on key areas.
Peter's own corporate experience provides him with key knowledge of what is required to be a successful senior Executive in organisations of all sizes and how to develop organisations and people for business growth. Whilst being a highly experienced 1-to-1 executive coach Peter's particular expertise is in developing senior executives and managers to be substantially more effective in their roles in a short period of time, by focusing on developing their leadership, communication, strategy skills and people skills. He also ensures success for senior managers in a new role/promotion, on-boarding new executives for their first 100 days as well as improving organisational and departmental recruitment and retention. He has worked with senior managers, directors and board members (turnover £4bn+) within a huge range of companies including Mattel, Airbus and Royal & Sun Alliance.
Within the public sector he has worked with senior individuals in Suffolk County Council, Stoke-on-Trent City Council and the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority.
Peter holds an MBA from Cranfield Business School, holds professional qualifications in Marketing (DipM) and Human Resource Management (Grad CIPD) and is a Graduate in Electronics from Warwick University. Peter is also a Certified Master Practitioner in Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP), is a Certified NLP Coach and is qualified by the British Psychological Society in psychometric testing to levels A and B.
Peter is married with young twin children. He is passionate about living a healthy lifestyle and having fun in the context of a balanced life. He travels widely and enjoys road cycling, walking and rugby union - having played first team rugby with Wasps RFC before injury curtailed his sporting career.
