Who are Notion's programmes for?

The programmes are designed for all levels of managers. Depending on your overall objectives and experience some qualifications will be more suited to you than others.

Level 3 Award and Level 4 & 5 Certificates have been created for anyone who has line management responsibility for others. You could be a team leader, supervisor, first line manager, experienced manager, senior leader or even a Board Executive... if you have management responsibility for others then these programmes will be beneficial.

The Level 6 Certificate is for people who would like to become an Accredited Coach... either as an Internal Coach within their organisation or as a highly qualified professional Executive Coach. The Level 6 is typically aimed at very experienced managers and senior leaders.

Do I need to be in the UK to join a Notion programme?

No! All of our programmes are 100% virtual so you join them from anywhere in the world, as long as you have access to the internet and a device to access it (computer / tablet / smart phone). In addition to our UK learners we currently have learners joining our programmes from USA, Canada, India, Japan, China, South Africa, France, Croatia and Dubai.

Are there any entry level requirements for your programmes?

Yes there are some requirements but these are fairly straightforward: 

You will need to be operating at or be on track to begin operating at supervisory or management level (with or without direct line management responsibility) including up to Senior Management. 

For the Level 3 you'll also understand the different roles and responsibilities of supervisors, managers and leaders within your own organisation and understand the relationship between improving personal skills and effectiveness in a particular role.

For the Level 4 you'll also need an understanding of Management in the context of workplace and organisation and be able to relate improvements in management effectiveness to the improvement in team performance metrics. For the Level 5 you'll also need to relate improvements to organisational effectiveness metrics. 

For all the qualifications you'll need to be able to read and interact with online learning tools, be able to apply exercises back in the workplace, and have the ability to capture reflections and record them in a learning log. Plus you'll be able to apply new learning and insights towards improving personal effectiveness.

You'll also need access to appropriate devices to complete the online learning elements.

There isn't any minimum age (as long as all the above criteria are met) for our programmes.

How much time per week will the programmes take?

This depends on the programme! The Level 3, 4 and 5 STAR^® programmes can all be completed with minimal disruption to your day-to-day working life. Bite-sized 30-minute sessions a few times a week will see you completing the qualifications within 3-6 months. If you have time for coffee breaks then you can definitely get through these programmes. It does require some commitment to consistently work through the programmes over a 10-24 week period, depending on the programme. 

The Level 6 programme, on the other hand, require you committing to make specific diarised sessions ranging from half-days to 2-days at a time, plus a slightly wider range of structured additional work. This programme also requires a larger commitment of 20 hours of coaching, additional reading and a written assignment, so you need to have a very high level of commitment for this programme.

Learner Guides are available for all programmes will a detailed breakdown of Guided Learning Hours (GLH) and also Total Qualification Time (TQT) - do contact us if you'd like further information about these. The TQT on the STAR® programmes are very much just part of your normal day job, so this is not 'extra' time you need to find.

How much do the programmes cost?

Is there any funding available?

ABOUT THE PROGRAMMES

What's the difference between the qualification levels?

Level 3 is the equivalent qualification level as an A-Level or International Baccalaureate Diploma

Level 4 is the equivalent qualification level as a Certificate of Higher Education (Cert.H.E/CertHE), a Higher Apprenticeship, and a Higher National Certificate (HNC) awarded by a degree-awarding body. This is equivalent to completing the first year of an undergraduate degree course

Level 6 is the equivalent qualification level as an honours bachelor's degree

Are all the qualifications recognised with a reputable awarding body?

Yes. All Qualifications are registered with OFQUAL - the UK government's awarding body of qualifications.

Notion partners with Open College Network (OCN-WM) to award the Level 3, Level 4 and Level 5 qualifications, and with ILM for the Level 7 qualification. 

What is the format of the programmes? How are they delivered? What is the journey?

There are three format options to choose from: 

Online Digital Programmes, Interactive Zoom Workshops and Face-to-Face workshops. 

The Level 3 and 4 Qualifications are 100% virtual with an exciting blend of activities including live tutor support. 

The Level 5 Qualification can be delivered in all 3 formats.

The Level 6 can be delivered virtually via interactive zoom workshops and some online activities

All of our programmes are 100% virtual so you can join them from anywhere in the world.

How do I book my place?

Simply request your brochure. You'll also be sent further information about how to register for your preferred programme.

When can I start?

For some programmes you can start immediately or at a time to suit you. 

The STAR^® Coach, STAR^® Manager and STAR^® Manager Practitioner programmes can be started as soon as we receive your payment... so you could be starting your journey within a few days from today. 

The Certified Master Coach programme has a range of scheduled start dates over the next 12 months. All available dates are detailed in the brochure and cohorts start typically every 3-4 months. Additional dates and cohorts can be added in line with demand and we also often run these as in house programmes too.

If you are interested in a programme and the current published dates don't suit you please let us know as we may be able to offer you additional options.

TROUBLESHOOTING

What happens if there is an issue?

Our dedicated Mission Control are on had to support you through every step of your journey. You can contact them at any time via email, and during normal UK office working hours; Monday to Friday 9am-5.30pm.

What happens if I can't complete the programme?

Just talk to us. There are many ways we can support you during your programme and we'll be delighted to work with you to find a solution.
