How to Survive a Zombie Apocalypse

“It’s the end of the world as we know it.”

These are strange times we’re living in, the stuff of fiction or the unbelievable plot of a Hollywood blockbuster. Rewind and a few weeks ago none of us could ever have contemplated this happening.

Except for maybe our Teenagers…they’ve been expecting some sort of zombie apocalypse for ages, haven’t they?

Fantasies about surviving the zombie apocalypse are now a major part of our pop culture, so what can we learn from our Teenagers about surviving this particular crisis?

Here’s what we found out…

1. Choose a Good Hide-out

Find a safe place where you can camp out and keep cover. Make sure you have plenty of resources and avoid busy spaces.

2. Pack a Survival Kit

Collect all of the things you need so that you can limit the amount of time you’re exposed to danger. Ensure you have all the essential items you need.

3. Become a Super Scavenger (So, that’s why the supermarket shelves were empty!)

No need to stock-pile, survivors will be able to think of clever and ingenious ways of using the things around them.

4. Use Your Mobile Phone

Keep connected by using all of the features on your mobile phone and on your other devices. Technology is the one thing that will maximise your chances of survival.

5. Gather a Useful Gang

Decide who you want to take with you. Who will you hide out with, how can you share responsibilities and who can you rely on to help you when you’re in hiding?

6. Know Your Survival Skills

Whilst everyone else is buying toilet rolls, survivors are honing the brand new skills they’ll need now and post-apocalypse.

These Teenagers might know a thing or two about survival after all, so let’s be guided by the Zombie Apocalypse experts and make sure we stay alert and take care of our essential needs.

Let’s think creatively about how we can get what we need and stay connected with each other. Let’s make sure we ask for help when we need it and use this time positively as an opportunity to learn and build brand new skills that will help us to survive, rebuild, grow and prosper.
