What's the Qualification?

Level 5 Certificate in STAR Operational Coaching and Management Practitioner

for completion of the Operational Coaching Practitioner (OCP^®) programme

Level 5 is the equivalent qualification level as a Foundation Degree (two-thirds of an honours bachelor's degree) or a Diploma of Higher Education (DipHE) awarded after two years full-time study at University.

Who's it for?

This qualification has been developed to support anyone who's working in a line, matrix management or leadership role with direct responsibility for the development and performance improvement of colleagues, direct reports or teams.

What's the Progression?

This qualification offers you the chance to progress to further Internal and Executive Coaching qualifications, for example the Accredited Internal Coach (Level 5) and Executive and Senior Level Coaching (Level 7) that would support a role as an Internal or Leadership Coach within your organisation, and the opportunity to join Professional Bodies such as the Association for Coaching.

What is Operational Coaching Practitioner (OCP^®)?

Notion's OCP^® programme is a coaching and management skills training programme developed to improve your capability by enabling you to incorporate coaching-related behaviours into your everyday management style, a skillset that has been shown repeatedly to increase employee engagement, productivity and the performance of teams.

The qualification will also provide you with the knowledge and skills to use these Operational Coaching behaviours in planned, developmental management settings such as 1-2-1s, goal setting and reviews, performance management and succession planning, or in the development of overall team performance as a part of a wider continuous performance improvement approach.

Overview of your Journey

The journey begins with an email to you from the Client Success Team with your link to notion.global (our LMS) which includes all the programme info, programme background and information, workshop logistics and timings, pre-work and qualification information.

The workshops (either face-to-face or virtual) is your first learning experience and includes a number of learning methods: plenary, large and small group discussions, practice exercises and a minimum of 1 hour of direct peer coaching on real business issues.

We want to get people actually coaching as soon as possible, firstly with each other on the programme and then back in the workplace. Unfortunately many other programmes spend a long time exploring theory before applying the practical learning.

Approximately 3 weeks and 6 weeks respectively after your workshops you'll attend a virtual Learning Circle with a Notion tutor. These are designed for you to share best practice and early wins with 2-3 of your peers, and hear the same from them. You'll also have the opportunity to practice your new skills in a safe environment with your tutor, who will provide you with written feedback for you to reflect upon and learn from after the sessions.

Finally you'll complete some on the job missions and reflection exercises, shared and captured through notion.global, which will become part of the evidence portfolio towards your qualification.

Payment Options

There are 3 payment options for this programme:

Option 1 - Full payment of £1,695 + VAT

Option 2 - Spread the cost over 2 payments; a deposit of £495+VAT immediately to secure your programme place followed by a final payment of £1,200+VAT one month before your workshop
If booking within one month of your workshop then full payment is required immediately

Option 3 - Request an invoice for your organisation to pay - for this option just continue to register and then select 'Request an Invoice' on the payment page
